Q37 – VRATARNICA, YUGOSLAVIA, 1 October 1944: In the shadow of the Danube's Iron Gates, as WWII's tides turn in the Balkans, the 7th SS-Mountain Division Prinz Eugen faces a critical confrontation. On October 1, 1944, amidst fierce combat at Vratarnica, its desperate attempt to secure a vital bridgehead against Bulgarian forces becomes a brutal test of strategy and endurance.

With both sides entrenched, the Germans' attempt to break through with flamethrowers and explosives met fierce resistance, setting the stage for a pivotal confrontation on the road to Bastogne.
