Description

Includes two BA-20 Armored Cars & two Vehicle Commander figures.

Throughout the 1930s, the Soviets developed a number of armored cars using conventional vehicle chassis that were modified to cope with the extra weight of the armored hull. However, even with modification, the capabilities of these chassis were being pushed to their limits.

It wasn’t until the availability of the GAZ-M1 chassis that the concept of the BA-20 armored car could be realized.

The BA-20 served the Red Army from 1936 and was the most abundant armored car in service during the years leading up to the Second World War. First seeing combat against the Japanese during the Nomonhan Incident, it continued to serve the Red Army during the invasion of Poland; against the Finns during the Winter War and against the Germans during the opening stages of the Great Patriotic War.
