In the Fall of 2020, David and Chenzy were coming off of a successful documentary project and really wanted to do another creative project together. Unfortunately, COVID was making this very difficult. This was frustrating, but film productions were starting back up in Atlanta and they could finally work again. They kept talking every day about what their next project together could be. Never in a million years did they think it would be a card game! While David was working on “Loki” and Chenzy was working on “Doom Patrol” they had a conversation that would spark the idea for what would become Made Up Movies. Naturally, David and Chenzy are always talking about movies. One day, one of them jokingly said that with all the movie reboots Hollywood makes it’s as if there’s a formula they plug into to generate new movie reboot ideas. It was just a joke at first, but that idea stuck with them. That weekend, they got together at Chenzy’s house and began to work out what that reboot formula might be on a whiteboard. It didn’t take long to realize that it would make for a really fun game! They were cracking up laughing for hours. It was awesome. The creative spark was back! They both knew they were onto something special. What began as a fun creative project grew into the game we have now. We could not have come this far without the love, support, and encouragement from our friends, our family, and our filmmaking community.
