Tricky Traders

Tricky Traders is a two-player card game where conniving merchants manipulate the reputations of stalls in the market to their advantage, using an identical set of action cards.

Before starting this three day game, each player is secretly given two specific vendor stalls to focus on during play. At the end of Day 1, players must privately indicate which of their assigned stalls should end the game with the best reputation and which should end with the worst reputation.

On Days 2 and 3, Players move characters in the market to trigger actions, while simultaneously trying not to expose the desired end game goals to their opponent. It is challenging but important for a player’s motives to remain hidden, in order to have the best chance of winning the game.

The presence or absence of customers and rats also influences each day’s scoring of fame. At the end of the Day 3, players reveal their goal cards and calculate how effectively they have supported or sabotaged their target stalls. The player with the greatest total score is the winner.
