Description

The P-61 Black Widow night fighter - introduced in 1944 - was the first operational U.S. Military aircraft specifically designed to use radar technology. The twin-boom fighter was also credited with the final Allied air victory of World War II when the P-61B "Lady in the Dark," flown by Major Lee Kendall, took down a Japanese Tojo on August 14, 1945.
