Description

The year is 1976. The original D&D box set has been out for less than 2 years. The previous year the roleplaying world was taken by storm with the release of Palace of the Vampire Queen, the very first pre-written adventure module. Then, Wintercon V arrived, and with it another milestone: a pre-written adventure written by the man himself, Gary Gygax.

Credited as being the second adventure ever written for Dungeons and Dragons, a paltry 300 copies of this printing of this historic adventure were produced and certainly may of those were lost to time on convention floors or in forgotten basements. The module is physically small, a mere bi-fold folio and 8 loose pages, yet it treads with the footprints of giants.

Classic D&D characters are featured here including Iggwilv and the demon price Graz’zt, though in very different forms than they would eventually assume. The module was run in a competition style and set the tone for D&D for decades to come.

The folder is Fair+, with a split spine, small stains and tears.

Of the original 8 pages, 3 pages were missing and replaced by photocopies. The original 5 pages are Fair+ having survived more than a few games, with light notations, small stains and tears.
