Description

Quill & Cauldron presents to you a very special 300+ page tome, aimed at both players and dungeon masters.

It is narrated by none other than Ulraunt, the Keeper of Tomes at Candlekeep, and also supports epic level play (as introduced in Epic Characters).

Details on three prominent Shadowfell locations.

  • Gloomwrought: An ever-changing and seemingly living city, characterized by numerous factions that scheme for supremacy, all ruled by an undying prince.
  • Evernight: A grotesque Shadowfell reflection of the city of Neverwinter, where the living are nothing but food and playthings for the undead that rule supreme.
  • Thultanthar: A floating city that was thought destroyed and now the only remnant of the long-lost Netherese empire, ruled by a shadowy magocracy to this day.
Five Domains of Dread, each with a tragic story tied to a specific Darklord.

  • The Burning Peaks: A volcano-filled domain which once held two infamous Darklords destined to be eternally at odds with each other, both of which have since escaped.
  • Har'Akir: A desert domain where the environment itself and the baking sun is as likely to kill an adventurer as the mummified Darklord.
  • Markovia: An island of horrible hybrid creatures and a Darklord who likes to... experiment.
  • Monadhan: A jungle domain of betrayal weighed down by the neverending suffering of its draconic Darklord.
  • Sunderheart: An urban domain of debauchery, duality, and unattainable satisfaction, ruled over by a pair of Darklords which are simultaneously each their own and a single entity.
