Description

"Day of Eagles" is an attempt to produce a playable - and above all enjoyable - game of aerial combat in World War Two. To those familiar with epic confrontations like the Battle of Britain, the defence of Malta or the "carrier battles" of the Pacific, the suitability of the subject for gaming should need little discussion. The widespread availability of good, cheap aircraft models nowadays makes it even more appealing. So if air wargaming has never attained the popularity of its land-based counterpart, this must be due less to an intrinsic lack of interest than to other considerations - especially the three-dimensional problem, and no doubt to some extent the technological one as well. In addressing these issues, our aim has been to achieve a practical compromise between historical accuracy and the requirements of the game.
