This listing is for a postcard which appears to be written to Hartwig Cassel, care of the American Chess Bulletin which was a monthly chess periodical published from New York City from 1904 to 1962.

The first issue of the American Chess Bulletin was published by Hartwig Cassel, a chess journalist, editor and promoter, and Herman Helms.

The postcard appears to be from Jose Raul Capablanca, a Cuban chess player who was the third world chess champion from 1921 to 1927, dated July 1909 and postmarked July 6th, 1909 out of Montreal.

The postcard reads:

"Played 15 games Tuesday, Mon 12. Drew 3.

Played 18 Wednesday night. Won 15, drew 2, lost 1 to [name unclear]

Received your telegram, but have not as yet received the letter."
