Description

1837 is a development of 1835, designed by Michael Meier-Bachl. The basic concepts are those of 1835, but there are extra features that add complexity. 1835 introduced a third type of railway to the 18xx games genre, the "minor company." Minor companies were small, regional companies owned by a single player which had no share price, but could lay track and own trains, paying 50 percent of their revenue to the player and keeping 50% in its treasury. In 1837, this concept was further extended to introduce a new type of minor company: the coal company
