These two volumes are a complete study of the organizational history of the Prussian army during the reign of Frederick the Great. There is an entry on every infantry, cavalry and garrison regiment, every freikorps, and other smaller formations. Each unit has its complete battle history listed in a table that provides the battle or engagement’s name, the portion of the unit present, and the date of the engagement. Interesting tidbits are provided on each regiment, such as when major numbers of its soldiers were captured or killed in specific battles. Uniform details are also provided. No illustrations.
