Description

"We heard my little girl screaming when the ceiling fell. We didn't know at the time, but when another sector fell off, the structural integrity of our sector failed. It fell in on itself, like someone crushing a beer can. I heard her screaming as the metal groaned and collapsed. She was maybe 20 yards away, though a storm of broken station parts and torn cables. I had it in my head that if I could just get to her, somehow we'd both be alright. That was my only thought. If I could just get to her, hold her in my arms, everything would be alright.

I ran, ducking power cords and scrambling ober gaping holes in the loor, open all the way down to the earth miles away. I ran and I saw her with her sweet faces twisted up in a scream of honest terror, I was a yard away.

That's when the panel fell on me, crushing me under it like a bung under a tissue. I did in that moment, thinking that if I could just get to her, we'll be alright.

But you'll never hear that story, I'll never tell it because I am dead. You'll only hear my torment and feel my agony as it whistles through the empty halls of our dead sector while I spend the rest of forever repeating my run to the sounds of my little girl screaming."
- Cynthia Gates, Deceased.

The Machine Age. Let that sink in.

The phrase implies many things; a new time, a time when priority is on the steel, the silicon and the plastic. Humans had their time, and now it's time for them to step aside.

Maschine Zeit tells the story of the beginning of the Machine Age. Humanity is on its downswing, struggling to find a place in a world moving past it. It has to either advance and adapt, or become obsolete.

Characters explore derelict space stations, floating at the edge of Earth's atmosphere. They're confronted by the unknown, specters that wander the halls timelessly.

In Maschine Zeit, we're telling ghost stories on space stations.
