Description

Harano is the state in which a werewolf finds themselves, when they succumb to despair. Some Garou look dimly on such kin, believing it is no way to end a life. “Self sacrifice is the only true way to meet the Apocalypse!” they cry, as they rush into battle. Those in Harano merely pine for what once was, and what they believe never can be.

Except, they’re wrong.

Through tales, songs, poems, and art, the Garou and Gaia persist. They remember all that went before, in painful, exacting detail. Even when it tortures them to do so. They share these stories not just to commiserate, but to sow wisdom. They believe, and they’re right to do so, that by spreading their stories of triumph and failure, joy and misery, battle and peace, sacrifice and slaughter, that they may become greater than their ancestors and hold a chance of saving Gaia and their people.

There are more ways to meet the Apocalypse than in the thick of carnage or in the depths of despair. One such way, is through the telling of tales. Wisdom is as great a trait as Glory and Honor, after all.

The Apocalyptic Record includes:

  • Five chapters of in-character accounts, reports, songs, and tales from the heart of the Garou Nation, covering stories of grief and joy, battle and peace, spirits and kin.
  • Story hooks in every chapter to make the content within the immediately usable at the gaming table.
  • A chapter dedicated to the Werewolf: The Apocalypse metaplot, and how to utilize it in your stories.

The Werewolf: The Apocalypse 20th Anniversary Edition rulebook is required to make full use of the rules and options presented in The Apocalyptic Record.

In The Apocalyptic Record, young and old Garou alike deliver tales of great, humble, disastrous, and glorious deeds. They run the gamut from tales of war and the Wyrm, to stories of the Umbra, Kinfolk, and tribes long lost.

  • Chapter One: Ahroun Tales — We open our story with the Full Moon and its many tales of combat, bloodshed, and wisdom gained from the battlefield. War is our footing, and destruction is at hand.
  • Chapter Two: Galliard Tales — We move on to the Gibbous Moon and the songs sung by the Galliard, with stories of tradition, inspiration, and grievous loss. Our Galliards impart tales of stirring victory and howling defeat.
  • Chapter Three: Theurge Tales — We move on to the Crescent Moon, and its journeys into the Umbra, the power of spirits, and fetishes and Gifts possessed by the Theurge. Insight is imparted here, from the many Theurges and their varied views of the spirit world.
  • Chapter Four: Ragabash Tales — We hear from representatives of the New Moon and all their promise of tales, trickery, Kinfolk, and Wyrm-tainted foes. Through canny and calculation, the Ragabash may hold the key to triumph in the face of Apocalypse.
  • Chapter Five: Philodox Tales — Our judges and mediators, the Philodox, conclude our tale. Just like the Half Moon that represents them, they advocate for balance, even if that sometimes take the form of an eye for an eye. Their stories are ones of peace, no matter how temporary, and ruling, no matter how just, or unjust.
  • Chapter Six: On Metaplot — Werewolf: The Apocalypse has a history stretching back many, many years. This chapter opens the door on that history, and provides invaluable advice on how to utilize it in your chronicles.
