Description

This is the fifth of an occasional series of wargame books under the title of Wargaming in History. This series sets out to provide books for those who love wargaming and history. They include what we hope will be inspiring photographs of wargames, beautiful uniform illustrations, maps and accounts of the historical battles and the way they might be wargamed, as in every case they have been.

This volume deals again with the Seven Years War which lasted from 1756 to 1763. The author looks at three battles, Minden, Kunersdorf, and Maxen, all from 1759, as well as an interesting action at Toragu.

In addition to the battles there is lots of the extra material readers have come to expect in this landmark series. In "More About My Wargame armies," Charles devotes a chapter to the command and staff of his legendary fictitious countries Die Vereinigte Freie State and the Grand Duchy of Lorraine. Bob Marrion has illustrated a chapter on the Specialists, which includes the development of engineers, sappers, pioneers, pontoniers and the logistic support in mid eighteenth century European Armies.
