Description

This is the 27th issue of “Figure Modelling” in Mr Black Publications’ Scale Model Handbook series and the 67th book we’ve published to date. So far 27 of our titles have covered figure modelling, of which six are second editions. Two are “How To” guides; three are about modelling dioramas, along with two further second editions. Five are the popular “Modelling the Second World War” specials, there are eleven “Theme Collection Special Edition Series”, seven are the “Scale Modelling Manual Series” and three are “Lifecolor Painting Guides Series”.

This figure modelling book includes eight articles from three well-known artists, who offer lots of tips and techniques about modelling miniature figures, busts and vignettes from Medieval times to the Second World War… Plus there’s a fantasy female bust and a 120mm figure of Marilyn Monroe.

Ernesto Reyes Stalhuth offers a mounted British Officer of the 2nd Punjab Cavalry (Probyn’s Horse) Indian Mutiny 1857. Over 10 pages Ernesto shows his painting technique for producing a colourful 54mm figure using acrylics.

Ernesto has contributed four more articles to this issue covering various themes and periods on busts… An English Longbowman Agincourt, 1415 – 150mm; European Knight 13th Century – 180mm; Pirate Captain c.1700 150mm and a German Tiger Tank Commander – 180mm.

Christos Katselos is a regular contributor to our editions and this time it’s two female subjects… Rusalka – 180mm and Marilyn Monroe as she appeared on her Korean War USO Tour – 120mm.

The final article is by our well-known contributor Stelios Neofytidis who presents an update/conversion of a WWI German soldier, a ‘Stormtrooper’ from ICM’s 1:35 scale series.

As always, thanks must go to all our contributors for their support and for sharing their secrets with us. Special thanks are due to AK-Interactive (Fernando Vallejo), Andrea Miniatures (Alexandra Fernandez), Vallejo Acrylics (Alex Vallejo and Jaume Ortiz Forns), Scale75 (Jose Mendez), Kimera Kolors (Luca Marchetti and Pietro Balloni), Lifecolor (Alessandro Balbo and Rolando Iezzi), Yannis Papadopoulos and last, but not least… Our English Text Editor Ken Jones.
