Comic Book Collecting

Published independently of the yearly price guide, Robert M. Overstreet created this as a compact primer aimed at new comic collectors. Inside are a few brief articles to introduce even the freshest reader to the grander scale of collecting comics, and a note on most commonly accepted grading guidelines (of the time). After that, the bulk of the pages are a succinct valuation guide that Overstreet calls the “most collected” titles, containing some of the most visible newsstand publications and big name comics, with prices ranging from a couple dollars to multiple hundreds.

While the data inside isn’t as solidified as Overstreet’s yearly price guide, this guide is a novelty that’s scarcely kept among the complete guides, so many have faded from the collections of even veteran comic collectors.
