Issue In Doubt - Symposium on the War in the Pacific

Noted historians, authors, and veterans from Australia, Japan and the United States participated in this first in-depth review of the dramatic and historic events that took place in 1942. Thirty seven participants recalled such events as the Battle of the Java Sea, the Doolittle raid, the Battle of the Coral Sea, battles of Midway and Guadalcanal, and the New Guinea campaign. The year 1942 was a pivotal period in the Pacific war and, as the terse radio message indicated, the issue was in doubt.
