He was key in the defense system the Germans, as was the only way free to retreat to the east. It is also their reaction was not long to wait. Within a few days there has been a series of blows from all sides. But the heroic Polish soldier answered them all, dealing with the huge loss to Germany, taking a few thousand prisoners. Unfortunately, defenders of the losses were very high.

Meanwhile, Canadian Division fought at Falaise, and after it was shifted mastered the trun, where it separated from the Poles have only a few dozen kilometers. Despite this, Canadians are not supported their comrades in arms, fearing that "fall like the Poles" (in Dieppe were already significantly przezorniejsi) and may incur large losses. So just pulled up with the support of the 51st DP British offensive was launched, whose aim was to combine with the Poles. It ended in success on the night of 19 to 20 August, when fully closed "bag" Falaise.

One of the interesting elements of business around the Falaise battle was the fact that skillful supply the Polish army transport planes, shucking containers unloaded weapons and medical materials. These supplies have been saving in a difficult position in which they were Polish troops.
