Within dark elven society, females govern all aspects of life. Matrons rule the households and temples, daughters inherit lands and wealth, and sons are mere assets to be traded, sacrificed, or disposed of. Many males join the house guard or become soldiers in service to the dark elven state. Few females would demean themselves with such a lowly vocation. Evshyvandra had no such choice for she is born from a dark elf mother and human father. As a half-blood Evshyvandra grew up on the fringes of dark elven society forbidden to take the name Nashan as her own.

She fell in with other half-bloods and disgraced full-bloods in a Darkreach mercenary company called the Blackwater Butchers. During one of the frequent skirmishes between noble houses, the Butchers were hired by House Nashan but were betrayed by them and abandoned to die. Evshyvandra escaped the massacre but only revenge would make her whole again. She was approached by the Laementhi and soon learned they were more than mere merchants and smugglers with no love for the Nashan. After proving herself worthy, Evshyvandra was asked to join house Laementh where she has risen above her humble lineage and now has an opportunity for revenge.
