Review: Another excellent product from WOC. Threats to the Nentir Vale is a plethora of vile creatures and threat imposing clans, mainly for heroic tier players, and to a lesser extent paragon tier players. This product will be of special interest to players and DMs who began enjoying the emcounters and adventures in the Red Box and the Dungeon Master`s Kit. All the material is keyed to the Nentir Vale, as the title implies.

The art work is amazing. Outstanding!
The monster stat blocks are grouped and presented in a manner allowing DMs to create encounters for various adventures. The monster threats are given for the various regions of the Vale, in a four page summary. You just need to write some enticing hooks, and string together likely encounters where you want the adventure to take place.

Included in the package is a double-sided poster map depicting four different locations. Many of the creature sections have sidebars providing examples of how to use a particular map for that encounter. Overall, this is a real DM friendly product.

Some may find it difficult to justify paying the full retail price of this product if you are not a big token fan - there are six pages of them! They have the darken backside with the creature`s name. Also, this product is mostly suited for Heroic tier players, and perhaps low Paragon tier players.

Lastly, this is not a boxed product. It has an open ended - both ends - slip cover sleeve, which is not of much use once the contents are removed.
