The aging Eisenhorn is now an Inquisitor of legendary status, hero-worshipped by younger Inquisitors and respected by his peers. Despite this he hides a great many secrets, which if unveiled, would mark him as a heretic and earn him an immediate death sentence. He must walk the fine line between duty and damnation as he struggles to come to terms with his questionable new methods - 'Exitus Acta Probat' - 'The end always justifies the means'.
