Set during the War of the Roses (1450-1490), Kingmaker is a race to capture the seven members of the royal families eligible to be proclaimed King or Queen. The game begins with each player receiving cards that show their share of nobles and combat strength. Such forces will increase when drawing cards conveying fortified towns, fleets, mercenary soldiers, bishops, and titles, but beware, as hostile takeovers, piracy, peasant revolts, plagues, and summons from the King can instantly change fortunes.
