Altar’s Prophecy is the English edition of the very popular Czech game, Proroctví. In the same genre as Runebound and Return of the Heroes, but most often compared to Talisman, it plays faster and has a better move and encounter system than the hallowed Talisman.
Prophecy is a fantasy adventure game with a role-playing aspect to it. You can choose to play one of ten characters and develop your strength, and magical powers, learn new skills, and acquire items. Along the way you will encounter many creatures to fight and meet many interesting denizens.
Once you have roamed the world and become more experienced and powerful, you will become confident enough to enter the Astral Planes where the most sinister creatures dwell, but the rewards are worth it... and the Artifacts. With four of these five items of power you can control the destiny of the world and win the game.
With an intriguing game system involving your character's power, money, experience, skills and items, the game is balanced but easily playable, with a strong repeat play value. The numerous cards and diverse movement system, combined with a clear set of goals, give the players the adventure role-playing feel and the strategy to make it interesting. Come and discover the world of Prophecy, so that your own prophecies can be fulfilled...
