Guadalcanal, 1942.
Matanikau recreates the epic battles of the 5th and the 7th Marine Regiments along the Matanikau River in September and October. This area, a key jumping off point for Japanese attacks against the main Marine perimeter around Henderson Field, saw sharp fighting which see-sawed between the two sides.
Matanikau features Banzai charges, vicious night attacks, Higgins Boat, naval and air support, as well as the redoubtable 'Chesty' Puller.
