Description

Briggs Stadium, (aka Tiger Stadium, aka Navin Field) was home to the American League's Detroit Tigers from 1912 to 1999. Originally Navin Field, the park was renamed when Walter Briggs took ownership of the team in 1938. Under its various names, this stadium would host four World Series, two of which brought victories to the home team - in 1935 against the Chicago Cubs, and in 1984 against the San Diego Padres. Three of baseball's most famous home runs were hit here: Babe Ruth's 700th career homer in 1934, Reggie Jackson's mammoth shot during the 1971 All Star Game that hit an electrical transformer on the right field roof, and Kirk Gibson's 8th-inning blast off San Diego's Goose Gossage that effectively ended the 1984 World Series. On September 27, 1999 the Tigers closed both the ballpark and the millennium with an 8-2 victory over the Kansas City Royals in the last and final game ever played in this stadium.

This 18" x 24" puzzle contains 500 pieces.
