Canticle is the first novel in the epic five-book series The Cleric Quintet. Author R.A. Salvatore is best known as the creator of The Legend of Drizzt, and though this series begins and ends separate from that storyline, Cadderly and other characters and situations from The Cleric Quintet are featured in Drizzt novels including The Silent Blade, and culminating in 2009's smash hit The Ghost King.
